George Lucas de Paula 2015 NBA DRAFT

George Lucas de Paula, PG, Brazil, 6-5, 1996

Strengths:
  • Great size for his position (6'5) & (7'1 wingspan)
  • Can score down low against smaller guards
  • Very strong for his age ( has NBA ready body)
  • See's the court well because of his height
  • Finishes strong at the rim; really good athlete
  • Upside (all-star potential)
  • Lock-down defensive potential

Weaknesses:
  • Inconsistent outside shot
  • Decision making (often shows his youth with some of his decision making)
  • Still a project on offense ( has all the tools, just needs to put them all together)

Player Comparison: Jrue Holiday
George Lucas de Paula is very reminiscent to a young Jrue Holiday. Both players use their size and strength to see over the defense and post up smaller PG's. Like Holiday (when he first came into the league) de Paula will come into the NBA, with an NBA ready body. But he is still developing and we probably won't see his best until he is 22 years old (the same age Holiday became an all-star).
